An opportunity has become available here in Genova, for an Automation Software Designer to join our Automation Centre of Excellence team. You will be responsible for designing and programming automation and control systems for high precision automated machines.


The Automation Software Designer is a key role for design and programming of PLCs, Robots, HMIs, Vision Systems and intelligent sensors, Custom/PC systems for data retrieving from the field for high precision manual processes


Duties & Responsibilities
  • Responsibility spans from machine concept, design and cost evaluation together with the ACoe team, with the full responsibility of software part and production data management from the field.
  • Software design and programming for automation systems
  • Software design and programming for automated testing
  • Software design and programming for supervision and data retrieving system
Technical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electronic / Software / Automation engineering or equivalent experience
  • Extensive experience in the integration of Robotic, vision, control and automation systems
  • Experience on projects from conception through design, test and final commissioning
  • Experience on programming assembly machines for contacts and connectors
  • Ability to handle automation and control products and systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of programming and commissioning of PLC/HMI systems – (Mitsubishi platform preferred)
  • In-depth knowledge of programming and commissioning of Robots / Cobots systems – (Mitsubishi / IAI platform preferred)
  • In-depth knowledge of programming and commissioning of Vision Systems – (Cognex / Keyence preferred),
  • Good understanding of motion control programming / drives / motors.
  • Knowledge of communication fieldbuses - e.g. Ethernet, Modbus, CC link
  • Understanding and ability to program simple upper level software parts (MySql, PHP, C# experience).
  • Proficiency in automated test programming (labview) will be a plus
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Strong Communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in English
